After
months of planning and many sleepless night, the " Shift
Your Sense Designer Exhibition" was held on 24 October
2004 at S.U.S. Design Center, Menara Landmark. At 10:00am,
the forum registration kicked off the exhibition. In conjunction
with the exhibition, there was the "USE
Again Sneaks preview" and also the re-launch of Territory
Vol 2. You could feel the energy in the air as the designers
mingled and exchanged ideas. There were lots of designer's
merchandise on sale such as tee-shirts, design books and toys.
Among the labels available were collections from
MAD Barbarians, ORCA Innovation Products, Bigbros Workshop
and many more.
The
highlight of the forum was the many fabulous speakers from
Malaysia, Singapore and the U.K. The forum began at 11am with
the opening speech from the principle of SUS Design Center,
Mr Siow Bih Wei. The invited speakers shared with the audience
their vast experience and creative works. The audience was
also encouraged to field questions to speakers at the Q &
A session. The audience truly had senses shifted with the
amount of knowledge gained on
that day.
Later
in the evening, a Monographical Fashion Showcase was held
in NY Club, New York Hotel. Combine with a multimedia show
project on to the stage and the models,
it was an immersive experience for all present. The tee-
shirt designs come from top-notch graphic designers from
all over the world and it was interesting to see so many
different designs come alive on the models.
Keeping
to a strictly designer's event, even the amateur models were
volunteers from within the industry.
